Lead Warning: The California Attorney General, along with the Center for Environmental Health (CEH) filed a lawsuit against numerous inflatable manufacturers on August 11, 2010.CEH began testing bounce houses for lead this spring of 2010. Bouncy Bounce would like to address the issue and keep its clients informed about the matter. Lead free means below 90 (PPM) (Particle Per Million) CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) and Prop.65 Compliance limits are 300 (PPM). after consultation with CEH to test our units so that our rental product would be below the Federal Limits of 90 (PPM) surfaces and 300 (PPM) for all other parts. After the test we can therefore rent out those units that are below the limits. We want our Renters to know that Bounce Houses are often made of vinyl (polyvinyl chloride or PVC) to know that it contains high levels of lead. Lead, is a neurotoxin that can cause learning disorders, brain and nerve damage, learning problem, stunted growth, and digestive problems if ingested, although they don?t ingest or eat it. For safety, the Center of Environmental Health recommends that everyone must wash their hands after using the bounce house. |
